Whoever came up with using PVA glue as a base for glitter polishes is a genius.
1 coat of PVA, 2 coats of CG Optical Illusion and a coat of Seche Vite. After 6 hours I could not resist peeling the glitter off which was super easy to peel.
I wore my polish for 6 hours and I had no chipping and that's all I can say. There have been ladies who have put it through more rigourous testing who have had quite good results. I'm sure the base would struggle if for example you did the dishes without gloves or went swimming and then into the sauna!
I did a 5 day wear test on the PVA base which included washing dishes without gloves, showering and washing hands. It lasted just as well as the regular base coat I had on my other hand. There are pics in one of my recent posts. :)
that's a great idea! I have the essence peel off base coat and I'm SO happy with it! I love glitters but because I hate the removal process, I used to avoid glitters....
I know what you mean, glitters really are a nightmare. Kudos to essence for making a peeling base though and even more for the person to suggest a cheaper alternatively!
this seems like a great idea, but would it damage your nails? could you use it on top of a base coat but under the glitter polish? http://cloudsandcuticleoil.blogspot.co.uk/ xx
Wow, using PVA glue sounds like a brilliant idea! I've started using the foil technique which I find very successful, but I will definitely try this soon! How did you apply the PVA glue? :)
oh wow i need to get me some of that! i love using glitter polishes, but the removal process is a pain. :( hopefully, this will inspire me to use glitter more often. :-)
That's such a good idea.
ReplyDeleteWould it peel if you didn't want it to though??

Hmmm! I think this by far is the best idea of removing glitter polish. I will try this one day.

ReplyDeleteThis is truly the next big thing in wearing glitter!
ReplyDeleteWhat a genius idea!! I would wear glitter all the time if it wasn't for the difficult removal process! How exactly do you apply it, though?
ReplyDeleteVery interesting. I might try this.
ReplyDeleteo_O want this!
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever idea! Hmm, I'll have to try it... I just saw this idea pop up on two or three blogs I read all in a row.
