Two manis using BM - 225

I've fallen in love with a flower design from BM-225 and so have two manis for you today! Hope you like them.
Base: Models Own - Raspberry Crush
Stamping Polish: essence - black (matte)

Base: Risque - Preto Fosco
Stamping polish: Rimmel - Green with Envy

Halloween Spotty Mani - BM-224

Please forgive me as I've gone for another simple Halloween mani. I've been far too lazy to do anything intricate or freehand, actually I believe I've lost my freehand skills so I'm going to stick with stamping for now until I get them back! To create the following look I used Barry M Coral, a jelly perfect for sandwiches and Nubar Black Polka Dots. This is the first time I've tried this polish and I'm a little bit disappointed with it as it took some effort to pick up the bigger hex pieces of glitter.

Sally Hansen Pumpkin Spice and some faux marbling BM-320

Today I want to show you Sally Hansen Pumpkin Spice. This black jelly with orange glitter came out last Halloween in the US but it recently turned up in my local Poundland. I read many complaints about how sheer it is so I wasn't really holding out for much but I must be in the minority because I love it. Yes it is sheer but it only took 3 coats to build up the opacity. It's perfect for Halloween.

At the weekend I tried to create a black and orange water marble mani but it still wasn't happening so I thought I'd fake one by stamping over PS with an image from BM-320.

The matte and glossy combo works but I wish the black stamping polish was more opaque.

And for kicks I decided to matify the whole thing. It didn't turn out a well as I had hoped.

Delicate Flower Pots - BM-308

Ooops I went a little AWOL this week! Actually I was sunning myself in Italy, but as it was a last minute booking I didn't really have time to schedule posts >_<. So apologises for that and my lack of commenting but hopefully this mani makes up for it.

For this mani I used OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls as the base and Barry M Cobalt Blue to stamp. It kind of reminds me of Chinese blue and white porcelain. Delicate. Happy weekend and thanks for reading!

Neon tribal - BM-315

At the risk of looking like a one trick pony I have yet another neon mani for you lovely readers. I've totally gone off my posting schedule so if you're waiting to see swatches of W7 Salt n Pepper or Lava Flow I apologise but I'm on a mini roll with the stamping!

Base: Barry M - Peach Melba. Stamping: White Konad Special polish as base then CC - Edie, Almost Famous and Wham! Pow! Pixi - Summer Pink

To get the neons to stamp I used the technique outlined in my previous post but instead of one colour I put blobs of the colours I wanted to use in a line and then scraped over the white. Does that make sense? I'm not particularly good at explaining things so if anyone wants a step-by-step tutorial give us a shout.

What do ya think?  I think it's up there in my top 3 stamped mani but I wish I had a proper neon yellow instead of yellow.

(And finally I just wanted to know from ladies in Italy what brands/polishes I should look out for and what shops I should check out when I visit?)

Ana Hickmann Reflex BM-318

Hiya! I had planned to post swatches of the other W7 'Sprinkles' (Salt n Pepper and Lava Flow) but I'm in the mood for some stamping. I hope you guys are too! Firstly let's take a closer look at the base colour I used. This lovely duochrome is called 'Reflex' by Ana Hickmann.

It came all the way from Brazil from the lovely Barbara so I'm guessing it is a Brazilian polish but I may be wrong. The formula is a dream to work with, smooth, fast drying and full coverage in 2 coats. The aubergine purple to green shift is not unique, however, compared to GOSH Purple Heart which is the closest dupe I have, Reflex is much more deeper and glowy.
Now for a little stamping. Using China Glaze LOL I stamped the hibiscus image from BM-318. It took me ages to decide what colour to use, but I'm pleased with my final choice as I got the subtle effect I was after.

Here the holo is more obvious under a spot light!

Stamping Neons on black - more neon rays! BM-319

A little bit obsessed with neon rays...

Base: Orly Androgynie

My trick to stamping with neons: I'm a cheap skate and refuse to fork out for neon stamping polishes so I've figured out a way to stamp with normal neon polishes. If you try stamping with neons straight up on black it usually looks a bit rubbish, however, if you scrap some white first then quickly scrap a neon layer over the white it's like a miracle, the neon stamps wonderfully! Black and Gold half-moon mani with stamping using BM-314

I was debating whether or not to put this mani up because I'm not really sure if I like it. The overall look is a little OTT for my liking but what do you guys think?

OPI Number One Nemesis, My Boyfriend Scales Walls and a bit of neon stamping

Hello there!

To make up for the lack of post yesterday I have for you a triple helping! First up is OPI Number One Nemesis from the Spider-man Collection that was released earlier this year to coincide with the new film.

Depending on the lighting this polish appears either as a warm metallic gold/green or a warm metallic silver shimmer with sparkly elements within. It applies like a foil and took hardly any time to dry between coats of which I applied 2. It is said to be a dupe of Chanel Graphite which I don't have so this is a welcomed addition to my collection.

Next is OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls another polish from the Spider-man collection. This is an off-white creme that applies very well with minimal streaking and only requires two coats for full opacity. It is on the thick side which if you don't like can be remedied with a couple drops of thinner. The fact that it's a muted white makes it a lot more wearable and look less like you've painted your nails with tippex (white out)!

Now for a little stamping. Over MBSW I decided to stamp some neon rays from Bundle Monster plate 301. I used Pixi Summer Pink which stamped very well. What do you think?

I tried stamping my thumb but the image was too small to cover the entire surface, what do you guys do when that happens? Until next time x

Color Club Edie with Clouds BM312

Whoa two posts in one day what is happening?! Well you have the weather to thank as the wet and cold has kept me indoors. And what do you do on dreary days, paint nails! Anyway as you guys know I bought the new Bundle Monster plates recently and I have been playing with all week trying to improve my technique. Nothing is worse than painting your nails, waiting for them to dry, making a pathetic attempt at stamping and then having to take everything off to start again.

During my practicing I discovered I have the most annoying nails to stamp over. They're quite curved which makes getting right into the edges problematic. It may be because the stamper I have is too hard so I've ordered a softer one, but we'll see. Also I've realised I need to invest in some proper stamping polish. I know there are polishes you can stamp with (and I have used a generic foil for the following mani) but being a newbie I think I should cut myself some slack and get some Konad polish just to make it a bit easier ya know!

Using the clouds (they look like clouds to me) from BM312 I stamped over Color Club Edie.

What do you think? I really like it as it's quite subtle even though CC Edie is quite in your face. I used Barry M Gold foil because I know it works but I would have like to have stamped using a white polish.

So where can I get some Konad polishes cheaply? Also am I/can I take off the backing on the back of the plate?
