Cath Kidston inspired nails

Hi ladies today I have for you Cath Kidston inspired nails. It's been on my to do list since I bought the my card holder months and months ago. The Cherry pattern is very cutesy like a lot of Cath Kidston prints which may not be to everyone's liking but I think the print translate well on to the nails and is so easy to recreate. It's been a while since I did any freehand stuff so it's not perfect but I'm really happy with the results.

Furry Fuzzy Neon Leopard Mani with a little glitter

I'm super excited to be showing you this neon leopard print manicure because a) I've never created a full leopard print mani before b) I utilised an awesome technique that Jen from ThePolishAholic developed a couple of months back and c) it's neon and neon is in!

I've been itching to create a leopard print mani but until now have not really got round to it. It's been done to death but that's because it's a really eye catching nail design that looks quite professional but very easy to create using some basic steps. Now me being me I'm not really content with doing something simply and will if I can push a design a little further. Basically I just like to create work for myself! So that is what I did with this mani. Using flocking powder I found for 99p I made my spots furry! (There was some glitter mixed in with the flock powder which is why you can see some sparkle)! I made a bit of a mess but it was well worth it and I hope to give this a go on my actual nails asap!

Falsies don't fit my nails well I know!

Springy Easter Mani

Hi ladies! I want to share with you a quick nail design that was inspired by a pair of shoes. When it comes to footwear I tend to steer towards more masculine designs like brogues or loafers. They're more comfortable and stay on my skinny feet unlike court shoes which I have real issues with. However today on ASOS a pair of very feminine flats that had 'Spring' written all over them caught my eye and I knew the pastel design would translate quite well onto nails.

I know the yellow looks odd but unfortunately I don't own a pale yellow polish so had to make do with the bright one I had. Something like ChG Lemon Fizz would be great.

Happy Valentine's Day

This design had been floating around in my head all day and as soon as I got home from work at 21.30 I set about painting it on my nails. I'm pretty happy with the design overall and surprisingly the heart was pretty easy to do. If I were to do it again I would try to make the LOVE ECG a bit neater.

Apologises for the images, my camera was refusing to play ball tonight and with my lack of patience this evening this was the best I could muster up.

"MMMMM" Mani

I picked up some Art Club Stripers a couple of weeks back to replace my LA Color ones and only today was I able to give them (well at least the white one) a quick whirl. I'm really into stripes at the moment so please forgive me as I bring you yet another stripey mani!

I decided to adds some silver bullions to my thumb to see what it would look like. What do you think?

(Quick tip if you are going to try this design is to use the corner of some tape (make sure the corner is 90 degrees) to mask off the triangle bits before you paint the stripes)

Bondage Nails

I sure most of you will have seen the amazing fashion inspired nail design by The Nailasaurus

back in Nov. I for one absolutely loved it and bought some bullions as a result hoping to experiment with them at some point. So while my net was down I came up with what I call bondage nails! Hope you like them. 

Robin Moses inspired Ribbon Nail Design

Robin Moses is the higher being of nail art. She's flippin amazing at what she does and a real inspiration for those who want to become nail artists or those like me who do it for a bit of fun. Her recent Ribbon video caught my eye because it was something that I felt I could do - on both hands!! Instead of using Red on black I've used gold and black and have missed out the glittered tips. This is the mani which will be on my hands now until 27th Dec! Hope you like it and I hope it lasts!!

Christmas Nail Designs

Hello everyone! Today I've been busy creating some festive nail designs for you. This is my first real attempt at painting designs on a nail wheel and I have to say it's a lot harder and less forgiving than doing it on your nails!

(All the designs were created using nail polish rather than acrylics)

My main source of inspiration came from Christmas cards such these ones from Paperchase. They're simple and work very well on nails. I even tried to create a penguin in the same style but you can see it's not as good!

Anyway I hope you like them and will be inspired to have a go yourself. If you would like a tutorial on a particular design then please let me know and I will try my best to do it.

Fair Isle Nails aka festive tribal !

Hey ladies I took some time out from writing my 'reflective' essay and created some super cute (well I think they are) Fair Isle nail designs for you! I love Fair Isle knits and I recently bought a wool skirt which inspired this whole shabang.

Pyjama stripes

Hey what's up?!
I've been a little sporadic with my posts but at the moment my coursework is taking up most of my life! It's my final year and all the grades count towards my final classification and there is no way I'm settling for a 2:1 lol.

Today I took a small break to do a quick stripy mani which reminds me of pyjamas even though my inspiration came from a shirt I got from H&M. Hope you like it!

I used Beauty UK Street Rose as the base, China Glaze First Mate (Anchors Away collection) and a white L.A. Colors striper for the stripes.

Moustache Mani Monday!

During the month of November (or 'Movember') men around the world will be growing their 'taches to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men. Unfortunately for us women it's quite difficult to grow a 'tache and join in, however Tracie over at The TraceFace Philes has come up with a novel way to show our support by proposing 'Moustache Mani Monday' where you paint moustaches on our nails. It's such a cute idea I couldn't resit joining in, so today I want to show you my moustache mani, hope you like it.

Halloween - Funky French

Hey guys hope you're all having a fab Halloween weekend. I promised to try and do another nail design for you but I copped out ;-( I had lots of ideas floating around in my head but when it came to putting brush to nail I chose to regurgitate the B&W French mani I did a few posts ago but on orange. I know! Hey at least the orange makes it Halloween-y. I guess my justification for doing this is that it's a little more grown up looking (not that nail designs should be age specific!) and you could probably get away with wearing it for work?!?! So anyway I hope my photos make up for the lack of creativity on the nails.

I added a flakie over the orange but it's not really visible in the photos!

Halloween - Cute Skull Nail Design

Hey guys just wanted to share with you a cute nail design I did today. I swatched Color Club's With Abandon last night and by this morning I was bored of it (plus is had receded under the Seche Vite Top coat) so wanted to jazz it up a bit. Don't get me wrong the polish is gorgeous but I just wasn't in the mood for it. The design I opted for was something I had doodled in an ethics lecture earlier this week, the lecture was so boring I wanted to stab myself but I thought creating a nail design was less painful haha. I think they turned out quite well considering it's all free hand. Anyway hope you like them!

Right have to remove them now as I have work tomorrow! :-( Have a good weekend!
