From reading other blogs it seems the Ikea Helmer is the preferred solution as it's relatively cheap and strong. It's ok but I personally want something that will add to the decor of my house (when I buy one) and isn't tucked away in a closet. Basically I want a nice bit of solid furniture, looks good and is a good investment.
After browsing I've decided I want something like this...
...old style library index filing drawers.
I know it may not be to everyone's taste but I can imagine something like this in my house (when I get one). It would house my polishes discreetly but keep them organised.

At present there is no way one of these would fit into my flat (and one of these solid oak units cost about £1000) so for the mean I might have to get a helmer!
Anyway enough random rambling from me, what do you guys use to store your polishes in?
I think that is a very neat idea. Plus it would make organizing everything so much easier.
ReplyDeleteThat first one is gorgeous. Totally appeals to the library nerd in me :)

I love the idea of an old card catalog storage unit! I have nowhere near enough room for it though. lol!
ReplyDeletereally cool ideas!
ReplyDeleteNice ideas! But I have to admit it has to fit in with the decor of your house. I have a more modern and minimalistic interior, so I use see-through nail polish wall racks. I love them, because I can easily get an overview of all the colours to pick one to wear. But I just ordered my fifth and sixth rack, so the wall is getting a little full. Might have to resort to helmers soon. :(
ReplyDelete@Mnemo I would love to see how you store your polishes. I'm super nosy lol!!
ReplyDeleteOops, I never saw this reply until now! I'll take pics and mail them to you. :)
Deletei love units like these... very cabinet of curiosities!
